Learning about womens health and fitness is a never ending process, it seems. Each day, a new fitness trend emerges as the 'best' one for women to try and from which to see results. But sorting out the fact from the fiction can be difficult, so here are three trends that are actually as good as they seem.
Stress Relieving Workouts
In these days of women and fast paced careers, womens health and fitness trends are responding by giving women a chance to mellow out. Programs like Yoga, for example, allow a woman to relax in the poses and movements while also getting a moderate strength training workout. Even Pilates is still a hot trend as it helps to lengthen the muscles of the body and to slow down the mind.
For women who find activity to be stress relieving, workouts like kick boxing and karate are also quite popular. If you feel like you could kick your boss in the head, why not channel that aggression and steam into a workout for your body? It's a lot less illegal.
Balance Focused Workouts
Toning your core has become the catch all phrase in womens health and fitness programs. Many workout routines are focused on redefining the midsection in order to help create a stronger overall physique as well as help with balance and grace.
These programs are difficult to master and often use things like a balance ball or a balance board during traditional exercise movements. In doing so, you end up working out more muscles than you would doing them on an even surface.
The only trick with these programs is that they are best done under the supervision of a fitness trainer so that you have someone to help you find your balance in the first place.
Fast as You Can
Another trend in womens health and fitness is the workout that can be done in thirty minutes or less. This fits perfectly into a busy woman's schedule and is much more convenient. However, science is still trying to decide if this is the more effective way to exercise.
Some research is showing that these kinds of workouts merely boost the heart rate for small periods of time, but aren't as effective as longer workouts.
No mater what you choose for your womens health and fitness program, you can be sure that something new will pop up tomorrow. And that's good news because it always keeps your body guessing.
